A well-established original equipment manufacturer is hiring an Automation Engineer to join their project management team. The Automation Engineer will work within a team of engineers to design, build and debug robotic automation systems. Daily you will report to an Electrical Engineering Team Lead. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Assist with quoting robotic systems for equipment builds
- Design, develop and program robotic systems, including end of arm tooling
- Assist mechanical engineers and technicians with debugging systems
- Travel to customer sites for robotic set up and advanced troubleshooting
- Manage up to five projects at a time, all at various stages
- Train end users on robotic systems
- Utilize robotic simulation software to ensure structural and reach requirements
- Represent the company in a professional manner that will foster and build internal and external relationships
- Other duties as directed by management

REQUIREMENTS for the Automation Engineer:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Ideally three years of experience working in automated manufacturing environments
- At least 1-2 years in an engineering, programming or technician role with the desire to learn more about robotics
- General mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting gears, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
- General electrical aptitude, including troubleshooting fuses, contactors, wiring, etc.
- General understanding of logic related to PLCs, robotics, sequencing, etc.
- Basic math skills
- Willingness to travel up to 25-30% of the time
- Microsoft Office Skills preferred but NOT required
- OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or integrator experience
- Skilled trades background
- Working knowledge of PLCs, robotics, etc.
