About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse, Special Procedures Profession: RN Specialty: RN, Special Procedures Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Critical care experience or medical-surgical experience preferred Advanced Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification preferred Description: Observes, evaluates, and coordinates care provided to patients in the Special Procedures department. Participates in direct and indirect care activities according to the organization's policies and procedures. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and safety. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Connects electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alerts the physician of any changes in patient condition. Records and analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt and valve data. Monitors patients, analyzes EKGs and hemodynamic parameters, and reports any changes to the physician. Operates specialized equipment accurately and reports significant data and findings throughout procedures. Collaborates with the healthcare team in providing patient care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commits to the safety and wellbeing of all associates and patients through required vaccinations.
