A Fleet mechanic with Wellnitz Tree Care is a dynamic role working both on site in the shop, and responding to emergency maintenance in the field! We are seeking an out-of-the-box thinker who can solve problems quickly, and takes pride in their work. This role is responsible for maintaining a fleet of about 30 vehicles and other various equipment.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and small enginesPerform both in-shop and field repairs across locationsRespond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtimeOwn and execute preventative maintenance schedulesTrack and manage maintenance using company systemsMaintain DOT equipment complianceOrganize and maintain a clean, structured shopOrder parts and manage inventoryTools & ResourcesTechnicians are expected to provide their own standard hand toolsCompany provides specialty tools, equipment, and shop resourcesWe invest in what is needed to perform the job at a high levelWhat This Role IsA mix of shop and field work (not tied to one location)A fast-paced, problem-solving role where priorities shiftA position with high ownership and responsibilityWhat This Role Is NotA purely administrative or coordinator positionA slow, predictable, in-shop-only roleQualificationsMust Have:Strong mechanical ability (hydraulics, electrical, engines)Diesel experienceAbility to diagnose and fix problems independentlyExperience with heavy equipment or similar machineryHigh level of ownership and accountabilityNice to Have:Fabrication / welding experienceCDLBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceProfessional development assistance #J-18808-Ljbffr
