The Engagement Manager is the hands-on use-case and AI workflow expert within the post-sales organization. The role works directly with customers to understand high-value business processes, translate those processes into practical AI use cases, and build, configure, test, refine, and deploy AI workflows in the BlueFlame platform.

This is not primarily a relationship-management or project-management role. Engagement Managers are expected to work directly in the product and own the technical and functional execution required to take a use case from idea to a functioning, repeatable workflow.

Engagement Managers partner closely with Customer Success, Implementation/Delivery, Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering. Their focus is converting customer needs into usable solutions while maintaining clear scope, repeatability, and handoff criteria.

This is a hybrid position in NYC with 3 days in office (Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).

Core Responsibilities

AI Workflow Design & Build

• Build and configure customer-facing AI workflows within the BlueFlame platform, including Skills, reusable prompts, workflow logic, document-generation workflows, data extraction and transformation workflows, and other supported automations.
• Translate a customer's existing business process into a structured AI-enabled workflow that can be reliably executed by end users.
• Configure prompts, instructions, inputs, outputs, templates, files, tools, and workflow steps required to deliver the desired business outcome.
• Test workflows against representative customer data and scenarios; identify failure modes, improve instructions and configuration, and iterate until outputs meet agreed quality standards.
• Troubleshoot workflow behavior and distinguish between configuration issues, product limitations, data issues, and problems requiring Product, Engineering, or FDE involvement.
• Look for repeatable patterns that can be templated and reused across customers rather than treating every engagement as bespoke development.

Use-Case Discovery & Scoping

• Meet directly with customer stakeholders and end users to understand workflows, pain points, desired outputs, source information, and success criteria.
• Identify where AI can materially improve an existing process and where a proposed use case is not well suited to the platform.
• Convert broad customer requests into clearly scoped use cases with defined inputs, outputs, users, acceptance criteria, and boundaries.
• Prioritize use cases based on customer value, feasibility, repeatability, and commercial importance.
• Establish clear expectations around what will be built, refinement cycles, dependencies, and what falls outside the scope of the engagement.

Refinement, Validation & Handoff

• Run structured build and refinement sessions with customers.
• Incorporate user feedback while maintaining agreed scope and avoiding open-ended customization.
• Validate that workflows are usable, repeatable, and producing acceptable outputs before considering a build complete.
• Document the completed workflow and ensure the customer understands when and how to use it.
• Enable end users and customer champions to operate—and where appropriate modify or create—workflows themselves.
• Complete a deliberate handoff to the CSM/customer once the agreed use case has reached its exit criteria.

Technical & Product Expertise

• Develop deep expertise in BlueFlame's workflow-building capabilities and advise customers and internal teams on how best to apply them.
• Stay current on new product functionality and incorporate new capabilities into customer solutions.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for CSMs when a use case exceeds normal CS build capability.
• Provide Product and Engineering with structured feedback on recurring workflow patterns, product gaps, configuration limitations, and opportunities for reusable capabilities.

Cross-Functional Execution

• Partner with CSMs to connect workflow delivery to broader adoption, value realization, retention, and expansion goals.
• Partner with Implementation/Delivery on complex rollouts, timelines, dependencies, quality control, and customer enablement.
• Pull in domain experts when specialized industry knowledge is required.
• Engage Sales Engineering/FDE or Engineering when a workflow requires integrations, advanced technical architecture, or capabilities outside standard Engagement scope.
• Support strategic customer meetings, workshops, office hours, and on-site engagements when hands-on workflow development will accelerate customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 0–4 years of professional experience, ideally in a client-facing, technical, consulting, implementation, customer success, solutions, financial services, or AI-related role.
• Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn new software, tools, and workflows quickly.
• Ability to break down ambiguous business problems into clear processes, requirements, inputs, and outputs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding how AI can improve real-world business workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers and explain technical concepts clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to test, iterate, and troubleshoot until a workflow produces a high-quality result.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment and take ownership of work from initial discovery through completion.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and comfort working in an environment where processes and product capabilities continue to evolve.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position based on a good faith assessment of the role and market data at the time of posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate's compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. This position may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or overtime if applicable. Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a retirement savings plan, paid time off, and other employee benefits. Specific details will be provided during the interview process. Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
