Job Title: Bus Driver

Reports To: Director of Transportation

Contracted Days: 180

Job Summary: Provides safe and efficient transportation to and from school for students according to established routes and within established times and guidelines; provides safe efficient transportation to students on extra-curricular or other non-route trips

Essential Duties:

Daily duties and responsibilities

• Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections.
• Defensively drives specific route transporting students to and from school in a timely manner. Addresses behavior problems when necessary
• Maintains open communication with parents.
• Uses chain-of-command to report major disciplinary problems.
• Inspects bus for damage at end of each run. Sweeps bus and leaves it in clean condition.
• Completes paperwork. Examples may include: student count, record of mileage, accident reports, maintenance requests

Duties performed as needed:

• Attends safety meetings, in-service training, and other workshops.
• Attends orientation meeting.
• Wash bus.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid Arkansas Class B CDL with P and S endorsements.
