Position Title

Ultrasound Technologist (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - RDMS)

Shift: 7:30-4:30 (usually Thursdays and Fridays)

Rate- $38.55-$45 HR

Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

• Conduct ultrasound studies including:

• Abdomen and retroperitoneum

• Small parts

• Gynecology

• Male pelvis

• Obstetrics

• Vascular imaging

• Breast imaging (as applicable)

• Review patient history and verify examination requests.

• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in a safe and effective manner.

• Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.

• Explain procedures and provide compassionate patient care throughout the examination process.

• Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records.

• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance standards.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.

• Maintain compliance with all facility, federal, state, and regulatory requirements.

Required Credentials

• Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

• Certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), and/or Breast Sonography , depending on the services provided.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required Experience

• Experience performing ultrasound examinations including, but not limited to:

• Abdomen and retroperitoneum

• Small parts

• Gynecology

• Male pelvis

• Obstetrics

• Vascular imaging

• Breast imaging (as applicable)

• Knowledge of ultrasound imaging principles, anatomy, physiology, and patient care standards.

• Ability to produce diagnostic-quality images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Work is performed in a hospital,

• Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.

• Ability to transfer, position, and assist patients as necessary.

• Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds or more, with assistance as needed.

• Frequent use of fine motor skills and repetitive hand movements.

• Exposure to healthcare environments and potential contact with infectious materials while following established safety protocols.
