Job Title:  Accounting Supervisor 

Location:  Birmingham, AL

Industry:  Healthcare 

Compensation: $80,000K-$90,000K + bonus 

Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM with hybrid flexibility 

About the Opportunity:  The Accounting Supervisor will direct and supervise all activities and personnel in the Cash Accounting Department

What You'll Do:

* Lead, mentor, and develop the team to drive performance, growth, and high-quality work, including goal setting and performance evaluations.
* Foster a positive, achievement-oriented team culture focused on customer service, proactive communication, collaboration, recognition, and professional development.
* Review cash reconciliations prepared by the team and provide constructive feedback to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Address performance concerns, work quality issues, and team challenges in a timely and professional manner.
* Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures to support accurate and timely financial analysis while promoting best practices.
* Investigate reconciliation variances and balance sheet discrepancies, identifying root causes and communicating findings to leadership.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and areas of focus.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and serve as a subject matter expert on related initiatives and projects.
* Lead and manage projects from planning through execution.
* Partner with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of cash reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.
* Collaborate closely with facility personnel, department leaders, and team members to support accounting and financial operations.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience required  
• Knowledge and ability to place a high emphasis and maintain controls surrounding financial reporting as pertains to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) 
• Proficient in Microsoft: Excel, Outlook, Word is required 

What Sets You Apart:

• Experience in healthcare accounting is preferred 
• Experience in Blackline or Peoplesoft is preferred
