Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Cloudflare SME (WAF, Edge Security & Traffic Optimization) to join their dynamic team. As a Cloudflare SME, you will be part of the Security Operations Department supporting the Infrastructure and Security teams. Job Title Cloudflare SME (WAF, Edge Security & Traffic Optimization) Location Swedesboro, New Jersey, with remote work options available Pay Range $95-100/hr depending on years of experience What’s the Job? Assess, optimize, and enhance Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations, rules, and policies to ensure maximum security and performance. Implement and fine‑tune bot management controls, rate limiting, and access rules to mitigate automated threats and abnormal traffic patterns. Analyze traffic data to identify bot activity and develop strategies to throttle, block, or challenge suspicious requests effectively. Optimize CDN behavior for static content delivery and improve request handling at the edge to reduce load on backend systems. Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to align Cloudflare configurations with backend capabilities and recommend improvements for upstream traffic filtering. What’s Needed? Extensive hands‑on experience with Cloudflare, including WAF management, bot mitigation, and edge performance optimization. Strong understanding of traffic, session management, and caching strategies. Experience supporting high‑traffic web applications in production environments. Background in security engineering, network engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE). Familiarity with supporting hybrid infrastructure models, including third‑party hosting and on‑prem connectivity. What’s in it for me?
