Commodity Manager

Job Description As the Commodity Manager you will be responsible for establishing contracts and ensuring the efficient supply of commodities or commodity groups. You will have full responsibility for their commodities and will report to the Sr. Commodity Manager. The role interacts with numerous suppliers and internal functions within the Fisher Flow Controls Organization. Responsibilities Establish relationships within the supply base to ensure performance metrics are met to Emerson’s goals. Maintain performance metrics including safety, on‑time delivery, lead time, and quality. Work systematically and thoroughly in accordance with company rules, procedures, and trade‑compliance regulations. Optimize costs through effective tools and strategic sourcing while meeting engineering, quality, and product specifications. Negotiate price, delivery, payment terms, stocking programs, and other supply terms in compliance with Emerson standard terms, ensuring contract availability and validity. Essential Qualifications Four‑year technical or business degree plus at least two years of supply‑chain management experience, or four years of relevant experience. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided. Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective cross‑departmental relationships. Passion for supply‑chain management with a focus on meeting customer needs. Ability to identify root causes of issues and resolve situations with support from peers or managers. Preferred Qualifications Experience fostering a collaborative team environment with mentoring and professional development. Strong negotiating and conflict‑management skills with a capacity for networking. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Project‑management, leadership, and prioritization abilities. APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
