LPN to ride the School Bus

General Purpose: Provides nursing care to patients/students in accordance with physician’s orders, established standards of practice, and the policies and procedures of the contracting employer. Makes decisions that are based upon his/her education and experience in nursing. Responsible for monitoring special needs students on the bus during transportation to and from school; recognizing and responding to deviation from their baseline and administering emergency medications and procedures as prescribed by their physician. Essential Functions:

• Implements physician orders and reports the patient’s response to care for all patients assigned.
• Recognizes changing patient conditions and emergency situations and intervenes appropriately within the scope of practice and contracting employer’s policies and procedures.
• Displays a working knowledge of common disease and common diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Constantly monitor students’ well-being and behavior during the route.

• Active Nursing License in the State of Kansas
• Active CPR certification
• Kind and compassionate person
