This position supports the daily operations of food preparation, meal service, and sanitation within the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. The work helps ensure residents receive safe, accurate, and respectful meal service. As a Food Service Worker, you will perform the following duties: Food Preparation: Prepare and portion food items, beverages, and meal components following direction and proper measurements Meal Assembly: Set up serving carts, assemble trays, and place food items based on ticket information and diet needs Diet Accuracy: Read and interpret dietary codes, check trays, and ensure meals match individual resident requirements Sanitation Tasks: Clean equipment, dining areas, dish machines, tables, and floors to maintain safe and sanitary conditions Inventory Recording: Document food usage, temperatures, meal counts, and assist with other required record keeping Resident Support: Deliver trays, transport carts, and assist with special event meal or decoration preparations Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 8.0 hours per day, 40 hours per week Work hours: 2nd shift (10:30 AM to 7:00 PM), rotating days, weekends and holidays with a 30 minute lunch. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
