AN/BYG-1 Test Engineer

Job Summary Ventus Executive Solutions is recruiting a skilled AN/BYG-1 Test Engineer to support an innovative program. The position requires an experienced T&E Systems Engineer with expertise in the AN/BYG-1 combat system and Linux environments. The engineer will provide technical support for the AN/BYG-1 Fire Control System and associated subsystems, assist with T&E efforts, build platform for the submarine fleet, and develop high‑visibility development builds. Responsibilities Participate in all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle (TRR, SDCT, DRR). Develop and execute test procedures for development testing (DT) and engineering measurement testing (EMT). Perform test conduct, analysis, and program technical report (PTR) reporting. Build out and troubleshoot the AN/BYG-1 system in Linux environments. Generate test checklists. Liaise with government personnel to resolve T&E issues. Location and Travel Work Location: Onsite – Newport, RI Travel: Less than 10% of the job duties. Security Clearance Secret requirement, U.S. Citizen required. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. 4 years of relevant work experience in developmental or operational T&E of U.S. Naval vessels, weapons systems, tactical systems, or software systems. Experience supporting test conduct, execution, analysis, and reporting. Ability to develop and execute detailed test procedures and step‑level technical documentation. Strong background and hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a multi‑disciplinary team environment. Experience using systems engineering tools and computer‑based testing platforms. Desired Experience Master's degree in a related technical field. Prior Navy operational experience or related military MOS/RATE supporting submarine combat systems. Familiarity with AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System and associated subsystems. Experience with Payload Control Systems (PCS), Tactical Control Systems (TCS), Voyage Management System (VMS), and Common Infrastructure System (CIS). Experience participating in TRR, DRR, SDCT, SDVR, Development Testing (DT), and Engineering Measurement Testing (EMT).
