Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care to our residents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to resident-centered care, regulatory compliance, and staff development.

This position works primarily on the day shift and requires participation in on-call coverage as needed.

• Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily operations of the nursing department.

• Support, supervise, and mentor nursing staff to promote quality resident care.

• Monitor resident care practices to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies.

• Participate in clinical assessments, care planning, documentation reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.

• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and coordination of nursing services.

• Respond to resident care concerns, incidents, and changes in condition in a timely manner.

• Promote infection prevention, resident safety, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families.

• Assist with staff education, competency evaluations, and performance improvement.

• Participate in facility surveys, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.

• Provide leadership support during the Director of Nursing’s absence.

• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to facility needs outside regular working hours as required.

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.

• Previous nursing leadership experience preferred; long-term care or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of applicable state and federal nursing facility regulations.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to lead a team, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound clinical decisions.

• Commitment to resident dignity, safety, and quality of care.

• Ability to meet the requirements of the position, including day-shift scheduling and on-call responsibilities.
