About the role:As an Enterprise Architect for TQL, you will shape enterprise technology direction while staying close to engineering execution. This role requires both strategic architectural thinking and hands-on technical leadership: partnering with engineering teams from discovery through delivery, validating architecture through technical deep dives and lightweight proofs of concept, and influencing implementation patterns across a complex, evolving environment. You will help define enterprise standards, guide modernization efforts, and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, practical to implement, and adaptable to the ever-changing needs of the logistics and transportation industry.What’s in it for you:$148,000-185,000 base salary + performance bonusesPosition based in Cincinnati, OH; Charlotte, NC; or Tampa, FL (relocation assistance provided)Advancement opportunities with aggressive and structured career pathsA culture of continuous education and technical training with reimbursements availableHybrid work environment with the ability to work remotely 40 hours per monthComprehensive benefits packageHealth, dental and vision coverage401(k) with company matchPerks including employee discounts, financial wellness planning, tuition reimbursement and moreCertified Great Place to Work and voted a Computerworld Best Places to Work in ITWhat you’ll be doing:Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and technical leads to understand business objectives, constraints, and implementation realitiesDevelop architecture roadmaps and strategies for enterprise systems that balance near-term delivery with long-term platform healthDefine and design microservices, APIs, and integration patterns with clear guidance for engineering teamsDrive the adoption of domain-driven design principles and lead capability mapping workshops that improve system alignment and ownership clarityLead hands-on technical design in cloud-native environments using technologies such as Kubernetes, and partner with teams to validate architecture through design reviews, spikes, and proofs of conceptEvaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and patterns that improve performance, resilience, observability, and engineering efficiencyMake build, buy, or partner technology decisions based on clearly established criteria, technical tradeoffs, and long-term architectural fitWork directly with development teams to review designs and ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, observable, and operationally supportableDefine and implement architecture standards, reusable patterns, and engineering guardrails across the organizationCollaborate with other architects and technical leads to ensure alignment of architecture across all systems and componentsWhat you need:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field8+ years of experience in architecture roles, including enterprise architecture or large-scale solution architecture, with meaningful recent engagement in technical design and implementation decisionsExperience decoupling monolithic solutions and designing and implementing microservices-based systems using domain-driven design principlesStrong knowledge of cloud-native technology paradigms and containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with hybrid environments and cloud platforms, preferably AzureStrong understanding of RESTful APIs, service-oriented architectures, and event-driven architecture patternsExperience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and architecture validation through proofs of concept, technical spikes, or reference implementationsExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving skillsHighly collaborative with the ability to provide hands-on technical leadership and influence engineers and technical leadersWhere you'll be: 4289 Ivy Pointe Boulevard, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245Employment visa sponsorship is unavailable for this position.
