A Day in the Life As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the start‑up and management of the day‑to‑day operations and growth for our new office in the Permian Basin. You will manage the financial operations and build a soil and groundwater remediation practice, including recruiting local personnel. The existing team includes approximately seven field technicians, and you will support local growth staffing as needed for various Onterris service lines. You will support cross‑training field staff, engage with client contacts, and work with Onterris salespeople to develop the Permian Basin market. It will also be your responsibility to ensure profitable work is consistently produced by each service line in a safe, organized, and cost‑effective manner. Compensation: $160,000 to $190,000, plus an annual bonus (12%) commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Responsibilities Operations Management – Expected to work in an office environment, mentoring and leading the team daily. Develop, manage, and track cost‑center targets/objectives to align with the strategic growth plan and budget. Implement strategic plans to meet corporate KPIs. Create and manage an annual budget and track performance. Update future reports on budgeting projections as changes occur, providing recommendations for corrective action including bi‑weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts. Manage the cost‑center backlog through monthly project estimates and review of Salesforce pipeline. Oversee the cost‑center P&L, including targeted Net Revenue and Net Labor Multiplier. Troubleshoot and provide solutions when falling short of budget/forecast. Communicate workload to the RVP bi‑weekly and schedule routine operational planning meetings with the local team. Hire staff and procure capital equipment based on marketing and financial projections, coordinating with the Regional VP. Functional Management of Staff – Mentor People Managers, monitor staff morale, develop annual performance goals, and provide constructive feedback. Work with People Managers and HR to develop corrective action plans for underperforming employees. Align with Practice Area Leaders and local teams on technical training and certification plans. Client and Project Management – Partner with Practice Area Leaders and Sales Team to designate project managers. Support leaders and managers across all service lines to assign staffing, resolve conflicts, and address performance issues. Collaborate with marketing on proposal development and staffing with external partners. Support marketing in developing project opportunities, including go/no‑go decisions, scoping, and resource allocation reviews. Establish and meet booked revenue goals to maintain the health of the local office and Southeast Region. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Exercise safe work practices and attend required safety training. Corporate Administration – Partner with the Regional VP to present tactical and strategic initiatives and recommend changes to meet objectives. Work with Practice Area Leaders to meet corporate financial goals. Partner with business leaders in finance, HR, sales/marketing, safety, and IT to ensure operations meet company goals. Embrace company values, ensure technical performance aligns with projected growth strategies, support and advocate corporate policies, and develop and report the status of monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs. Complete special projects as requested by the Regional VP/Operations Leadership Team. Qualifications • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 10 years of project/program management experience, with at least 8 years in a people‑manager position overseeing office P&L.
• Experience in a professional consulting or team‑oriented environment, performing client, project, and staff management.
• Preference for experience in environmental consulting.
• Excellent strategic planning, change management, and communication skills.
• Visionary, creative, open‑minded, and transformational leadership style.
• Attention to detail, high quality standards, and strong time‑management under stress.
• Broad understanding of financial management principles and business acumen, and ability to review/evaluate cost‑center P&L.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements The position will involve local travel as needed. You will spend time working in an office environment, standing, walking, and occasionally deploying to emergency response sites. Work may also be outdoors in hot, cold, or extreme weather conditions, including sun, rain, and wind.
