Senior Project Accountant

Harmer Associates is partnering with a rapidly growing, privately held Texas-based company with close proximity to DFW airport. This is a high-impact Senior Project Accountant opportunity with significant runway for career growth. The company has experienced tremendous expansion since 2022. This individual will gradually assume ownership of the company's Project Accounting function, working closely with Accounting, Project Management, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership. The long-term vision is for this person to step into a management role within 12-18 months, with the opportunity to build and expand the Project Accounting team as the organization continues to grow. Key Responsibilities Own and oversee project accounting activities across a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial projects Manage project billing, A/R, job costing, and project financial reporting Analyze WIP, revenue recognition, gross margin, and cost-to-complete Partner directly with Project Managers and Operations to monitor project financial performance Identify project variances, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings to leadership Support month-end close and project-related accounting activities Present project financial information to Executive Leadership Eventually assume full ownership of the Project Accounting function and help develop the team What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Meaningful Project Accounting experience Strong understanding of job/project costing Project billing and A/R experience Working knowledge of WIP, revenue recognition, gross margin, and cost-to-complete analysis Experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, construction, equipment, manufacturing, distribution, engineering, or another project-driven environment is highly valued Strong Excel/technical accounting skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
