Aircraft Mechanic I (23021) Electrician (F/A-18 Multiple Variants)
Resicum International LLC is seeking motivated and experienced Aircraft Mechanic I Electrician personnel to support organizational-level maintenance operations for VMFA-112 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) Fort Worth, Texas.
This position supports the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and operational testing of F/A-18 aircraft electrical systems across multiple variants. Working under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel, the Aircraft Mechanic I Electrician performs electrical maintenance while ensuring aircraft systems remain mission ready in accordance with NAVAIR technical publications, engineering data, quality assurance standards, and established safety procedures.

Position Summary
The Aircraft Mechanic I Electrician performs scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft electrical systems and associated components. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical discrepancies, repairing aircraft wiring and power distribution systems, performing inspections, operational testing, and servicing electrical components while supporting daily flight operations and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and aircraft readiness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance on F/A-18 aircraft across multiple variants.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, modify, remove, install, and operationally test aircraft electrical systems and associated components.
- Maintain and repair aircraft electrical wiring systems, power generation and distribution systems, lighting systems, electrical control panels, circuit protection devices, batteries, electrical connectors, wiring harnesses, and associated aircraft accessories.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions affecting aircraft structures, landing gear, flight controls, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, fuel systems, anti-icing systems, Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), and environmental control systems.
- Repair, replace, fabricate, terminate, route, secure, and test aircraft electrical wiring, connectors, relays, switches, terminals, and associated electrical components.
- Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, voltage measurements, resistance testing, and operational testing using approved electrical diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), wiring repair manuals, service bulletins, and technical directives.
- Remove, replace, align, adjust, and operationally test aircraft electrical components following maintenance actions.
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of engine electrical accessories and aircraft support systems.
- Conduct preflight, turnaround, post-flight, conditional, and special inspections.
- Perform battery servicing, electrical operational checks, connector inspections, and routine aircraft servicing.
- Assist with aircraft towing, jacking, recovery, and ground handling operations.
- Utilize digital multimeters, insulation resistance testers, continuity testers, oscilloscopes (as required), torque wrenches, crimping tools, precision measuring instruments, and aircraft electrical support equipment.
- Document maintenance actions, discrepancy reports, inspections, and aircraft logbook entries in accordance with Navy maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with senior mechanics, Production Control, Quality Assurance, engineering personnel, and Government representatives.
- Maintain compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, Tool Control Program (TCP), environmental regulations, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives to improve aircraft electrical system reliability, maintenance efficiency, and mission readiness.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, aircraft stands, and maintenance platforms.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and around operating aircraft.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to distinguish wire colors and accurately identify electrical components.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience, with experience supporting F/A-18 aircraft or other military tactical aircraft preferred.
- Demonstrated experience performing aircraft electrical inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and operational testing.
- Working knowledge of F/A-18 aircraft electrical systems, maintenance procedures, and applicable technical publications.
- Experience maintaining and repairing aircraft electrical wiring, power generation and distribution systems, lighting systems, electrical accessories, and associated aircraft components.
- Working knowledge of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, flight control, and environmental control systems sufficient to support electrical troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft electrical theory, AC/DC electrical systems, circuit analysis, and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs), Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), wiring repair manuals, and other approved technical publications.
- Experience using digital multimeters, insulation resistance testers, continuity testers, precision measuring instruments, and specialized aircraft electrical maintenance equipment.
- Ability to remove, install, repair, fabricate, terminate, route, secure, and operationally test aircraft electrical wiring and associated components.
- Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize assigned maintenance tasks while meeting production schedules and mission requirements.
- Ability to work effectively under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel while maintaining strict compliance with electrical safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, and quality assurance requirements.
- Ability to distinguish wire colors and accurately identify electrical components.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required installation access credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps experience maintaining F/A-18A/B/C/D, F/A-18E/F, or EA-18G aircraft.
- Previous experience as an Aviation Electrician's Mate (AE) or equivalent military aircraft electrical maintenance specialty.
- Experience supporting Organizational (O-Level), Intermediate (I-Level), or Depot (D-Level) aircraft maintenance.
- Formal training in aircraft electrical systems, aircraft wiring repair, or aviation electrical maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting aircraft power generation, power distribution, lighting systems, electrical wiring harnesses, and associated electrical components.
- Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), NAVAIR, or U.S. Department of Defense aviation maintenance contracts.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, if required by the contract.
