Registered Nurse (RN)

The Brook Hospital has been offering hope to individuals, families, and communities since 1985. The Brook is the leader in providing quality mental health and addiction treatment services. The Brook Dupont, located in Louisville, KY, is an 88-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adults. This position offers a $15,000 sign on bonus!

The Registered Nurse (RN) participates in treatment planning as a member of interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician; assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations; provide and direct milieu management, and additional tasks as needed. Best candidates for this position will have behavioral health experience, a strong work-ethic, and highly consistent timeliness and attendance!

Job duties include:

• Demonstrates knowledge of legal implications of nursing practice in performance of duties.
• Delegates tasks, and verifies completion.
• Demonstrates full level of awareness of unit milieu, and provides appropriate guidance to staff.
• Demonstrates ability to establish priorities concerning total unit milieu.
• Serves as primary channel of communication between shifts, for patient care unit, and between departments during designated scheduled shift.
• Observes and interprets each patient's behavior, demonstrating an understanding of psychiatric concepts, diagnoses and developmental stage.

Qualifications requirements include:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (associate's degree) required. BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kentucky required.
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience required.
• Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
• Current CPR Certification required

Hours: Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Rotating Weekends Required)

Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 9:00 am - 5:00pm
