The team works to understand users and partner across teams to measure, balance, and optimize the trade-offs among key customer groups (e.g., users, advertisers, creators). The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $192,000–$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Own the product strategy and roadmap for YouTube’s user quality ranking systems. Deliver opportunities through ML algorithms, auction design, and relevance models to drive long‑term business growth while protecting the user experience. Define key metrics for measuring ranking quality, relevance, and user impact. Design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate changes and make data‑driven decisions. Partner with engineering and data science teams to conceptualize, develop, and refine ranking models and algorithms. Understand the technical trade‑offs and guide the development of signals and features that improve relevance and quality. Partner with ML and back‑end engineering teams to build and deploy next‑generation ranking models (e.g., deep learning, contextual signals, predictive engagement models).
