The Commercial Loan Closing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and workflow management of a team of Commercial Loan Closers and Agriculture Loan Closers for purpose of documentation preparation and closing of a wide range of commercial loan transactions. The position includes coaching, recruiting, audit response, project assistance, documentation and due diligence oversight of various real estate and non real estate transactions. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Leads, motivates, develops and supervises the daily operations of Commercial Loan Closers and Agriculture Loan Closers.
• Delegates work, monitors work flow, volume, and timelines. Expedites efforts as needed to meet demands and service level agreements.
• Resolves conflicts expeditiously and effectively through research, analysis, identifying trends, patterns, and potential system issues, while communicating with applicable parties to reach final resolution.
• Performs quality review checks of commercial loans to ensure consistency and accuracy in documentation, due diligence, and adherence to federal regulations, compliance requirements, and loan policy.
• Reviews and reports commercial loan metrics and performs trend analysis.
• Identifies coaching opportunities for teammates and provides training assistance where needed.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the commercial operational procedures and processes related to commercial loans, while ensuring they align with the lending compliance environment and adhere to all bank regulations.
• Assists with the talent acquisition process, including the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of qualified job applicants within the Commercial Loan Closer and Agriculture Loan Closer roles.
• Prepares and monitors various management reports relevant to the Commercial Loan Closer and Agriculture Loan Closer including but not limited to monthly production, quality control reviews, quarterly service level agreements, compliance audits, and post closing review reports.
• Collaborates and contributes to key project initiatives as it relates the Commercial Hub.
• Performs duties of the Commercial Loan Closer and Agriculture Loan Closer as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Demonstrates leadership skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, coach, inspire, mentor and retain a high performing team.
• Thorough knowledge of a wide range of commercial loan types and corresponding documentation both Real Estate and Non Real Estate.
• Able to read, analyze and interpret both bank generated commercial loan documents and attorney prepared documentation
• Advanced ability to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings and make thoughtful recommendations while considering overall risk, short-term and long term impact.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial loan compliance policy, closing processes and procedures as well as Banking regulatory requirements relating to commercial loans.
• Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
• Able to plan, schedule and organize professional schedule to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames.
• Able to provide a high level of interactive service to others, building relationships and addressing identified needs.
• Advanced critical thinking skills with the ability to research, analyze, evaluate viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings and make thoughtful recommendations considering overall risk and short-term and long-term impact.
• Retains a high level of computer and organizational skills which may include Microsoft Office, loan documentation systems, cloud based systems, and share drives.

Industry and Work Experience:

• 5 or more years as Commercial Loan Closer, Agriculture Loan Closer, or equivalent role required.
• Leadership experience required.
• Management experience preferred.

Academic:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
