Software Network Engineer

Salary: $162,000 - 202,000 per year Requirements:

• We require the ability to work lawfully in the United States without employer-sponsored immigration support, now or in the future.
• We are looking for a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We require at least 6 years of professional experience.
• We need strong English communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak fluently.
• We expect solid knowledge of data networking concepts, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, and optical transport.
• We require extensive familiarity with industry standards and specifications such as IEEE, ANSI, fiber media, bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet, and transport protocols.
• We need deep expertise in network design, network architecture, protocols, and topologies.
• We expect experience using ticketing systems, operational software tools, and network design tools such as Visio.
• We need the ability to thrive in a fast-moving team environment and quickly learn new technologies.
• We expect proficiency using standard office equipment and applications, including a personal computer, Microsoft Office, telephone, copier, fax machine, and calculator.
• Preferred qualifications include CCNP, JNCIS, JNCIP, or other vendor-specific networking certifications and training.
• Preferred candidates will have knowledge of our products and services.

• We design, deploy, administer, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure to deliver high availability, resilience, and scalability for mission-critical systems.
• We plan, forecast, and define resource needs for highly complex network environments.
• We apply advanced knowledge of routing, switching, and related networking technologies to support reliable operations.
• We troubleshoot and resolve major network and systems incidents.
• We collaborate with architects and engineers to shape, model, and implement new technologies.
• We serve as a key representative of the engineering organization in cross-functional technical initiatives.
• We build strong partnerships through excellent service and technical expertise that help our business grow.
• We document project scope, costs, timelines, testing, and delivery terms to ensure quality completion on schedule and within budget.
• We mentor and train other engineering staff on core networking concepts and deliver technical presentations to support broader team knowledge.
• We research emerging technologies and assess how they can benefit the business.
• We test and validate new hardware and network connections to confirm correct configuration and performance.
• We may work in a network lab setting and travel occasionally as needed.
