• Required Qualifications:
  • Must have completed a program of education in nursing from a National League for Nursing (NLN) approved institution
  • License in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse
• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate must pass and maintain competencies for this position
  • Proficiency with office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine) and medical equipment relevant to position (EKG, cystoscopy)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to practice nursing as per Alaska State regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, basic EKG skills, and nursing skills
  • Ability to interpret diagnostic tests, administer treatments and medications, and educate patients and their families
  • Capable of supervising unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
  • Flexibility with work schedule and ability to work independently within prescribed limits
