Sales & Service Plumbing Technician

A Skilled Plumber Who Protects Every Home Like It’s Their Own?

Are you a plumbing technician who finds the real problem, explains it clearly, and gives clients options they feel good about? Do you take ownership of every call, stay calm when a client is stressed, and believe that doing right by people is how you build a career? At 1-Tom-Plumber Long Island, we’re the emergency plumber Long Island calls first. Our mission is to protect homes, deliver exceptional service, and grow pros into leaders. If you’re ready to wear the pink & black with confidence and help raise the standard of plumbing service across Long Island, keep reading.

Who This Is For:

• A protector: someone who takes responsibility for the client, the job, and the outcome.
• A client-focused pro: someone who listens, reassures, and builds trust, especially during a stressful plumbing emergency.
• A sales-minded technician: someone who serves clients through education, options, and prevention, and is comfortable asking for the business.
• Someone with humble confidence: you take pride in your skills and stay open to feedback and training.
• A teacher and teammate: someone who shares knowledge and helps raise the standard for the crew.
• Someone who stays calm under pressure: you handle urgent calls and difficult diagnoses professionally.

What This Role Really Looks Like:

You’ll be both a skilled technician and a trusted advisor. That means diagnosing plumbing problems, explaining options, and delivering reliable solutions, all guided by our ground rules:

Service > Sales.
Integrity > Revenue.
People > Profit.

1. Diagnosis & Service
   • Deliver 5-star client experiences through accurate diagnostics, clear communication, and clean work.
   • Take ownership of every job and keep callbacks to a minimum by doing it right the first time.
   • Handle urgent and emergency calls professionally and with care.
2. Client Advising & Sales
   • Recommend and sell solutions that help clients make confident, informed choices.
   • Show clients the value of protection through preventive memberships.
   • Meet revenue, review, and membership goals.
3. Documentation & Coordination
   • Keep job notes, photos, and updates accurate and timely in ServiceTitan.
   • Work closely with dispatch and operations so every call runs smoothly.
4. After-Hours Rotation
   • Take part in the after-hours rotation: one weeknight per week and one full weekend per month.
5. Truck, Tools & Equipment Care
   • Keep your truck, tools, and equipment clean, maintained, and ready for service.
6. Training & Team Growth
   • Take part in team meetings, technical training, and regular feedback.
   • If you’re an experienced, truck-ready technician, you may also help support newer team members.

If you’re looking for a role where you just fix the problem and leave without talking to the client, or you’d rather not be held to performance goals, this isn’t the role for you. If you take pride in your craft, put integrity first, and want to grow into a leader, you’ll thrive here.

What You Get Here (That You Don’t Get Everywhere Else):

• A path to running your own truck as a full-service technician.
• A company with a clear mission: protect homes, deliver exceptional service, and grow pros into leaders.
• Ground rules that put service, integrity, and people ahead of revenue.
• Ongoing technical training, team meetings, and regular feedback to sharpen your skills.
• Room to grow into a mentor and leader as you develop.
• A bold brand and a proven process that back you up on every call.

Must Haves:

• 1–3 years of plumbing service experience.
• Comfortable selling solutions and memberships through education and options.
• Comfortable with tablets, mobile apps, and dispatch software. ServiceTitan experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record.
• Able to work the after-hours rotation: one weeknight per week and one full weekend per month.
• Dependable, organized, and open to feedback and training.

What Success Looks Like:

• Consistent 5-star Google reviews from clients who trust your work and communication.
• Clients choose preventive memberships because you’ve shown them the value of protection.
• You meet the performance expectations that fit your experience and development level.
• Few callbacks, because the job is done right the first time.
• Job records in ServiceTitan are accurate and on time, and work with dispatch and operations runs smoothly.

Pay Rate: $30 per hour. After you complete the 3-month probationary period, you’ll have the opportunity to operate as a full-service technician running your own truck.
