Description
  • Conduct assessments on patients from pediatric through geriatric groups utilizing standardized tools and observational methodologies.
  • Create tailored therapy plans that target both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
  • Deliver personalized one-on-one speech therapy addressing aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to build comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to empower progress beyond clinical sessions.
  • Occasionally involve in inpatient speech therapy assessments, ensuring comprehensive continuity of care throughout each patient's treatment experience.
  • Document accurately and consistently according to state, federal, and organizational protocols.
  • Commit to continuous improvement and stay informed about advancements in the field through professional development and peer networking.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
  • State accreditation as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within your first month of employment.

  • Expertise in evidence-based therapy practices for all age groups and a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
