Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department. License: Must have a valid RN license in hand. Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS. Must-Have: Strongly prefers certifications in TNCC and CPI. Description: Position/Specialty: RN - Emergency Room Ratios: 1:4 Must have prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Floating requirements apply. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit sees a daily census of approximately 120 visits. There are 34 rooms in the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient diagnoses and special procedures may vary. Additional skills required include managing critical situations such as drug overdoses, gunshot wounds, traumatic injuries, seizures, and respiratory conditions. Experience in intubation, chest tube management, and care of ventilated patients is also essential. The facility expects compliance with patient safety protocols and proper patient care techniques. Candidates must be prepared for physical and emotional demands of the role.
