We are seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible for producing precision components according to blueprints, work instructions, and quality specifications. The ideal candidate has experience with CNC mills and/or lathes, understands machining processes and tooling, and can inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
• Review blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
• Load programs, tools, fixtures, and raw materials into CNC machines.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and workholding devices.
• Establish machine offsets and make adjustments to maintain required tolerances.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Measure completed parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Monitor machine operation and identify tool wear, vibration, chatter, or other performance issues.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and quality problems.
• Replace worn or damaged tools and adjust speeds and feeds as needed.
• Complete machine changeovers and production setups efficiently.
• Deburr, clean, and prepare finished parts for the next operation.
• Record production quantities, inspection results, scrap, and downtime.
• Follow established quality procedures and report nonconforming material.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep machines clean.
• Maintain an organized and safe work area.
• Work with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production personnel to resolve issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform additional machining or production duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Previous CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and workholding methods.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of dimensional tolerances and geometric dimensioning concepts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform shop math using fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
• Basic computer and production-documentation skills.
• Ability to work overtime or flexible hours when production needs require it.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of CNC machining experience.
• Technical-school training in machining, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience with both CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Siemens, or similar machine controls.
• Experience editing CNC programs at the machine.
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Experience with multi-axis machining.
• Familiarity with GD&T.
• Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plastics, or other materials.
• Experience in a job-shop or high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP, shop-floor, or production-reporting systems.
