RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

Required Skills / Certs / Exp: Minimum years of experience: 2 years required. Traveler experience required: Unit will accept 1st time traveler. Locals accepted / rate difference: Yes. Skills: Inpatient, locked unit, substance use/chemical dependency, anxiety disorders, assault/violence, bipolar disorder, degenerative disorders (Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's), depressive disorder, personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, self-injurious behavior, substance use, suicidal behavior, trauma and stressor related disorders, emergent chemical restraints, physical hold protocols, use of seclusion, voluntary/involuntary commitment, antianxiety medication, antidepressants, antipsychotics, medication administration, mood stabilizer, sedatives/analgesics, blood glucose monitoring, interpretation and communication of lab values, oxygen administration, seclusion protocol/procedures, wound care/dressing changes, behavior management techniques, crisis interventions, de-escalation techniques, managing assaultive behavior, psychoeducation. Certs: MOAB preferred.

Job Details: Target ratios: 1:7. Shift: Nights 18:45-07:15; weekends only: Friday, Saturday & Sunday 36-48 hours can be offered. Will accept 13 week contracts. Call requirement: None. Float requirement: Floating may be required to task in med surg units when needed. Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Patient diagnoses: Adults, geriatrics, all mental health diagnoses.

Special Procedures / Unit Details: BH is split between 2 floors, 2nd and 9th. Team members rotate between the 2 floors and all are expected to work in every area of acuity. We have psych techs who are not CNAs but they do check vital signs, blood glucose and other duties. Their main job is milieu management and patient monitoring. There are lead psych techs who are out of coverage and help with deescalation. Our team lead is in coverage, however, there is either a nurse manager, assistant nurse manager, or house supervisor onsite and virtual clinical nursing support available 24/7. We have a therapy team who works 7 days per week and conducts all groups.

Special Equipment: We use ObservSmart for patient monitoring. It is a proximity-based tool that improves safe outcomes. We also use personal panic alarms and public safety in the building. Unit systems (medication, documentation, communication): EPIC required, Pyxis, SBAR.

Unit Orientation: 32 hours hospital orientation week one; traveler must be available for classes each day.
