Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical unit, ensuring adherence to established standards and the nursing process. Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient data to identify health status and care requirements.
• Develop individualized care plans aimed at achieving patient outcomes.
• Implement care plans by coordinating nursing interventions and ensuring patient safety.
• Evaluate patient progress and modify care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families about treatment, health management, and discharge planning.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to nursing team members and coordinate their activities.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in a Medical Surgical setting.
• Valid BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS certifications preferred.
• Recent EPIC electronic health record system experience within the last 12 months.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and team collaboration skills.
