Appleseed Community Mental Health Center is looking for an organized, outgoing, and community-minded Fundraising Specialist to help grow our fundraising efforts, strengthen donor and business relationships, and bring special events to life. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys building relationships, planning events, connecting with local businesses, and turning ideas into action . You’ll work with staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors, vendors, and community partners to increase engagement and support Appleseed’s mission throughout our community.

What you’ll do
- Build and grow relationships with local businesses, corporations, and community organizations
- Identify opportunities for sponsorships, workplace giving, fundraising campaigns, employee engagement, EAP partnerships, referrals, and other community partnerships
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, donor appreciation activities, corporate fundraising challenges, and special programs
- Secure event sponsorships, auction items, in-kind donations, and other community contributions
- Coordinate event details including registrations, guest communications, vendors, volunteers, staffing, setup, and follow-up
- Recruit and support staff and volunteers participating in fundraising events
- Assist with donor recognition, thank-you letters, and stewardship communications
- Help identify and engage prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Assist with fundraising materials, sponsorship packages, campaign messaging, and donor communications
- Maintain organized donor, fundraising, and event records
- Track fundraising results and prepare reports for leadership
- Represent Appleseed professionally at community events, networking opportunities, and stakeholder meetings
What you’ll do
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Someone who is comfortable building relationships and communicating with businesses, donors, volunteers, and community partners
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and event details
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable representing Appleseed in the community
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, sales, business, public relations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 1–3 years of experience in fundraising, event planning, donor relations, marketing, sales, nonprofit development, or a related area
Requirements
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
- Reliable transportation and required auto liability insurance
- Ability to travel locally for events, presentations, meetings, and community engagement
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends for fundraising and special events
- Successful completion of required background check and pre-employment drug screening
