Registered Nurse - Med/Surg/Tele (Nights)

Position Overview Employment Type: Full-time, 12‑hour night shift 7p.m. – 7a.m.; position located in Germantown, MD. A $13,000 New Hire Retention Bonus is offered to external applicants meeting the minimum requirements. Job Title: Clinical Nurse – Med/Surg/Telemetry. Reporting to the Director of Acute Care. Unit Overview The Med/Surg/Telemetry unit is a 30‑bed inpatient unit that is part of a new transformational care team model. Nurses work with a virtual RN (vRN) and a certified nursing assistant to provide acute care, including pre‑ and post‑surgical patients such as bariatrics. The unit serves a diverse population with multiple comorbidities. Responsibilities Participate in collaborative planning, coordinating, and delivering quality care to medical and telemetry patients, focusing on stroke/neuro patients. Facilitate best practices for nursing interventions and communicate results to the healthcare team. Provide education to patients and families on all medical diagnoses (respiratory, cardiac, GI, renal, neuro, endocrine). Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). If BSN/MSN not present at hire, must sign agreement to obtain within a specified time frame. Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification (AED‑equivalent) issued through the American Heart Association. At least one year of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Competency in electronic patient management systems. Preferred Qualifications BSN or MSN degree. Certified MS‑RN in nursing. ACLS certification.
