Pharmacy Technician in Los Angeles, CA

An acute care facility in the Los Angeles area seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician for an 8 to 13+ week contract opportunity. This role is ideal for candidates with inpatient experience who are comfortable supporting busy hospital operations and managing complex medication dispensing systems.

- Compound intravenous (IV) medications accurately and efficiently.
- Fill and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
- Perform order entry using Paragon/Allscripts systems.
- Work collaboratively with a team of pharmacists and technicians to support patient care.
- Cover varying shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including weekend hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Adhere to scrub dress code and infection control protocols.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with licensing to work in acute care settings.
- Proven experience in IV compounding and use of Pyxis automation.
- Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy operations and hospital electronic order entry systems, specifically Paragon or Allscripts.
- Ability to work flexible shifts totaling 40 hours per week.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Facility has 117 licensed beds with an average daily census of 44.
- Pharmacy team includes 3 full-time pharmacists and 3 full-time technicians.
- This opportunity is open to travelers willing to relocate or commute to Los Angeles.
