Oncology Patient Care Technician

Join a dedicated oncology care team in the Midwest region as an Oncology Patient Care Technician. In this role, you will work closely under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the delivery of compassionate, patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with clinical procedures, providing hands-on patient care, and ensuring smooth departmental operations through effective coordination of records and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support patients and their families to create a positive care experience.
  • Incorporate principles of compassionate, individualized care into daily practice.
  • Enter patient data into electronic health records and communicate findings to nursing staff.
  • Assist with patient rounding and respond promptly to care requests.
  • Provide clerical and operational support to maintain efficient department function.
  • Manage inventory and ensure supplies are stocked and within budget guidelines.
  • Transport and assist patients safely as needed.
  • Participate in staff education and orientation activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on patient care.

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a 75-hour CNA course certification is required.
  • Must be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry at the time of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • Completion of a Mandatory Reporter course is required within six months of hire.

Experience and Requirements

  • Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
  • Commitment to compliance with organizational policies and ethical standards.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to participate in meetings and ongoing training.
