Placement Specialist

Responsibilities Manage and execute key components of the new business and renewal processes for mid-to-large commercial insurance accounts. Maintain the timeline and process through the new business and renewal cycle. Create and execute marketing strategies for select accounts. Evaluate and analyze alternative risk financing mechanisms. Strategize and build insurance towers for select accounts. Communicate effectively within the team environment. Review insurance policies and contracts, and make recommendations for improvement. Analyze Excel spreadsheets of prospect client exposure and/or loss data. Maintain familiarity and working relationships with various insurance companies and wholesalers. Handle confidential and non-routine information. Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities needed to improve overall job expertise. Requirements 5+ years of relevant insurance experience Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, and negotiation skills Proficient with MS Office products, including a high knowledge of Excel and Word Experience with Applied Epic a plus Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy Able to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills Experience with a broker/agent, including marketing large middle market accounts to carriers Strong knowledge of all basic applicable insurance coverages College degree preferred Must currently hold an applicable insurance license. Pursuit of a professional designation – CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, CPCU – preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in managing commercial insurance accounts, including new business and renewal processes, while effectively communicating and collaborating within a team.
