The Financial Aid Advisor will advise and counsel full and part-time undergraduate and graduate students/families on the financial aid application process, aid availability, and financial planning while working in a team environment to accomplish the University's enrollment management goals. The Financial Aid Advisor position requires a detail oriented individual with strong communications, interpersonal, and computer skills, as well as excellent time-management skills; a self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team. This position will be responsible for the administration of the Federal Work Study program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Counsel students and their families on the financial aid process, aid availability, and financial planning.
• Assist with administration, verification and reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional financial aid in accordance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
• Coordinate and administer the Federal Work Study program
• Coordinate, manage, and recommend changes to programs and processes based on federal and state regulations and institutional policies
• Coordinate and participate in University recruitment/financial aid events.
• Collaborate with other University departments to develop and deliver a consistent message to prospective and current students during the enrollment life cycle.

Performs other specific program responsibilities and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required
• One to three years' work experience is required, preferably in Financial Aid
• Experience working with Thesis Elements or other similar programs is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and exercise judgment in a demand-based service setting
• Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as required to accommodate student service
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Bilingual with Spanish preferred
• Working knowledge of COD, NSLDS, and NJFAMS preferred

Salary Range: $45,000 to $55,000
