Job Title: Radiation Oncology Therapist
Location: Medford, Oregon
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 Hours per Week)
Pay Range: $49.33 - $67.84 per hour (based on qualifications)

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Radiation Oncology Therapist to join its state-of-the-art Radiation Oncology team at a comprehensive outpatient cancer center. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the region's most advanced cancer treatment facilities, delivering exceptional patient care using cutting-edge radiation therapy technology.

The Radiation Therapist will work under the direction of Radiation Oncologists and Radiation Oncology leadership to safely and accurately deliver external beam radiation therapy treatments while building meaningful relationships with patients throughout their treatment journey.

Responsibilities

• Deliver external beam radiation therapy treatments using advanced treatment systems
• Perform patient simulations and treatment setup with precision and accuracy
• Administer radiation therapy according to physician prescriptions and treatment plans
• Build supportive, compassionate relationships with patients throughout their course of treatment
• Acquire patient imaging using CT simulation equipment
• Develop and utilize patient positioning and immobilization devices
• Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, nurses, dosimetrists, physicists, and engineering staff
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and reporting machine concerns
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation using electronic treatment management systems
• Support the education of radiation therapy students and ancillary personnel when needed
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new treatment techniques and technologies

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering external beam radiation therapy
• ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
• Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiation Therapy License
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• Thorough knowledge of radiation oncology principles, treatment procedures, and patient care
• Experience with Varian 21EX and/or Accuray Tomotherapy treatment systems

Preferred

• Experience working in a comprehensive cancer center
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within a multidisciplinary oncology team
• Experience with CT simulation and advanced patient positioning techniques

Technology & Equipment

• TrueBeam Linear Accelerator
• Radixact Radiation Therapy System
• Accuray Tomotherapy Platform
• GE CT Scanner
• MOSAIQ Record & Verify Treatment Management System

Schedule & Work Environment

• Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No routine call requirements
• Weekend treatments are rare and only occur if required due to equipment downtime during the week
• Therapists work in pairs on treatment machines
• Occasional independent responsibility while performing CT simulations
• Dedicated Radiation Oncology department with no floating to other units

Orientation & Training

• Department-specific orientation through shadowing experienced Radiation Therapists
• Streamlined onboarding designed for experienced professionals
• Expected transition to independent practice within one to two days
