Position Summary
The Instruction Department Program Supervisor will oversee planning and day of operations for all Multi-week lesson programs and serves as a central point of contact for Multi-week Lesson Program participants and Instructors. This position helps connect employees, guests, and other mountain staff to ensure multi-week lessons run efficiently. This position reports directly to the Instruction Director, while working with the other Instruction Supervisors and Rental Shop Management to support daily operations, and ensure department processes run efficiently across multiple teams.
This role is responsible for administration and oversight of all multi-week lesson programs including communication to Parents/participants, program coordinators, and Instruction Staff, monitoring participant sign-ups, monitoring safety considerations and helping mitigate safety-related issues involving on-hill lessons and program facilities. As one of the primary points of contact for both employees and guests, clear communication, strong organization, and consistent follow-through are essential.
The Program Supervisors will assist with daily rental operations, daily instruction operations, and department trainings as program operations permit.

No two days are exactly the same, and the role offers a unique mix of administration, customer service, workforce coordination, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- In addition to the job duties listed in the Instructor Job Descriptions, this position’s responsibilities are:
- Program operations in the Instruction Department
- Monitor, support, and assist Instructors on-snow during lesson times
- Setup and maintenance of Instruction Areas (on snow and off)
- Building Setup, Instructor Room
- Signage, Self Guided Area, Conditions of Day
- Coordinate with Mountain Management on program operations plan
- Assist Instruction Sales staff, DTO Staff, and Ticket Office Staff with Program Registrations
- Review schedule and make adjustments based on program needs
- Coordinate lesson and instructor availability with daily operations
- Assignment of class groupings and instructor assignment
- Monitor and assist with emails and communications
- Coordinate with Operations Coordinator and Instruction Supervisors to monitor scheduling
- Compile Program payroll information
- Respond to incidents and complete post incident response duties
- Manage Multi-Week Program Registrations and Communications
- Maintenance of Multi-Week Rental Cards
- Assist getting Program groups through Rental Shop in a timely manner
- Enter and Archive Attendance and Class Card Records
- Handle rescheduling and refund requests
- Assists with Training and Development of Instructors
- New Hire Training, Instructor Evaluations
- Assess Programs success and plan for future program offerings
- Identify areas of improvement
- Assist with creating and maintaining employee resources
- Provide mentorship and feedback
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Build positive working relationships with leaders across the mountain and in other departments, supporting collaboration, communication, and shared operational goals
- Provide day-to-day guidance, communication, and support to team members
- Plan, schedule, and administer employee meal and rest breaks in accordance with Washington State wage and hour requirements, addressing operational challenges to maintain compliance.

- Support supervisors and managers with daily operational needs and changing business demands
- Step into different operational roles as needed to support the team and department
- Encourage strong communication, collaboration, accountability, and guest service within the team
- Promote and support a strong safety culture by reinforcing safe work practices and helping employees follow department and company safety expectations
- Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of sustainability goals for both the department and the company
- Help identify areas where additional operational or employee support may be needed
Wage & Hour Information
- Starting wage range is $24-$29/hr DOE
- This is a seasonal, variable hour position. Hours per week may vary between 5-40+ hours/week. Expected end date for position is April 18, 2027, unless otherwise approved by management.
- This position will be based out of the Mt Baker Ski Area during the operating season, and variable outside of the operating season between the Bellingham Business office and the Ski Area.

Requirements:Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the Snowsports, recreation, hospitality, or outdoor industry.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn scheduling, payroll, and point-of-sale systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years working full-time in a Snowsports school, with experience in a supervisory role
- Current PSIA/AASI Level 2 or above certification, dual discipline certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Education, Business Administration or related industry experience.
- Experience with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, or coordinating seasonal employees.
- Experience working with scheduling, payroll, spreadsheets, or point-of-sale software.
- Prior experience in an administrative, coordination, or office support position.
- Experience with Rental Operations and Rental Procedures
- Strong understanding of contemporary snowsports instruction, including the PSIA/AASI Technical, People, and Teaching Skills.
- Ability to teach both skiing and snowboarding and confident supporting both ski and snowboard instructors
- Proven track record of providing mentorship and coaching to staff
- Willingness to proactively provide feedback and address potential issues in a collaborative and compassionate manner
- Experience addressing and debriefing on-snow incidents with participants, parents, and instructors
- Understanding of and ability to apply risk management best practices as they apply to Snowsports instruction and the Snowsports industry
