Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a SAP IS-U Billing Functional Lead Consultant on behalf of our client in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAP IS-U Billing and a solid understanding of end-to-end utility billing processes.

This role requires someone who can independently lead functional activities, collaborate with business and technical teams, configure SAP IS-U Billing solutions, troubleshoot complex billing issues, and support testing through go-live and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP IS-U Billing functional activities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into functional solutions.

• Configure and support SAP IS-U Billing processes, rates, billing parameters, and related master data.

• Troubleshoot complex billing errors, exceptions, integrations, and production issues.

• Develop functional specifications and process documentation for enhancements and custom developments.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and integration teams.

• Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, and data validation .

• Participate in cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production support activities.

• Provide functional guidance and knowledge transfer to project team members.

• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Strong, recent hands-on experience with SAP IS-U Billing .

• Excellent understanding of end-to-end utility billing processes .

• Hands-on experience with SAP IS-U Billing configuration and functional design.

• Experience handling billing errors, complex billing scenarios, and production issues .

• Strong experience developing functional specifications and supporting integrations.

• Experience with SIT, UAT, regression testing, and defect management .

• Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment .

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to travel to Detroit, MI , as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale utility transformation or SAP IS-U implementation projects.

• Experience with SAP and non-SAP system integrations.

• Strong knowledge of data validation, reconciliation, cutover, and post-production support.
