Mechanical Plumbing Engineer Location: Mount Holly, NJ Work Arrangement: In‑Person — Main Corporate Office Job Type: Full‑Time Experience: 3–5 Years Required License: Professional Engineer (PE) — Required Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our MEP team in Mount Holly, NJ. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, coordination, documentation, and construction administration of plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing engineering, excellent knowledge of applicable codes and standards, proficiency with industry design software, and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license. Key Responsibilities Design and develop domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, natural gas, fire protection, and specialty piping systems. Perform hydraulic and engineering calculations, including pipe sizing, pressure loss, flow rates, and equipment selection. Prepare plumbing layouts, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation. Ensure designs comply with applicable local and national plumbing codes and standards, including IPC, NSPC, IFGC, ASPE, and NFPA . Incorporate applicable green building requirements, including LEED and WELL standards. Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, HVAC, electrical, structural, and other project disciplines. Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams. Review shop drawings, product submittals, RFIs, and other construction documentation. Conduct site visits, inspections, field assessments, and construction administration activities. Assist with engineering studies, technical reports, proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. Support project management activities and help ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements. Required Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (PE) license — Required . 3–5 years of relevant mechanical/plumbing engineering experience . Strong knowledge of plumbing engineering principles, practices, and applicable codes. Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam, and Mathcad . Experience with hydraulic calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and technical documentation. Understanding of MEP coordination and construction administration. Experience reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs. Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Ability and willingness to work in person at the Mount Holly, NJ office . Preferred Qualifications Experience with LEED and/or WELL projects. Experience working on complex healthcare, institutional, commercial, or industrial projects. Strong project management and client‑facing experience. Knowledge of current plumbing and building code requirements.
