The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join a long-term project focused on improving the quality robustness and maintainability of a mission-critical software solution operating in a highly regulated environment .

You will contribute to a strategic initiative aimed at significantly increasing automated test coverage detecting defects earlier in the development lifecycle and reducing regression and maintenance risks.

This is a highly technical testing role combining software engineering test automation and quality assurance with a strong focus on C/C and Python.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse existing software interfaces test environments and current test coverage

• Identify critical gaps and define appropriate automated testing strategies

• Design develop and maintain automated test suites

• Develop automated tests for software interfaces and configuration/static data

• Create boundary-value and out-of-range testing scenarios

• Increase automated pre-integration and regression test coverage

• Create and maintain test data including simulated or stubbed external inputs where required

• Contribute to performance load stability reliability and security testing

• Integrate automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines

• Produce clear test reports coverage metrics and traceability documentation

• Analyse test failures and help distinguish software defects from test-related issues

• Document test environments installation configuration and execution procedures

• Collaborate closely with software engineering and product teams and contribute to knowledge transfer

What Were Looking For:

• Strong professional experience in software test automation

• Very good programming/scripting skills in C/C and Python

• Experience testing both HMI/user-interface and backend software

• Solid knowledge of automated testing methodologies and test architecture

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD environments

• Ability to analyse complex systems and identify meaningful test coverage gaps

• Experience with test reporting traceability and coverage metrics

• Strong documentation skills and a structured quality-focused approach

• Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with technical teams
