Join Our Dynamic Pre-Operative Nursing Team!

Job Description:


- Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM (5 Days - 8 hours)
- Start: ASAP
- Weekend Requirement: No
- On Call Requirement: Yes, 1-2 Call nights per week from end of shift to 10:00 PM
- Floating Requirement: Yes
- Nurse/Patient Ratio: 2:1
- EMR Used: EPIC
- Dress Code: Pewter scrubs

Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in our Pre-Operative unit, you will:
- Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of patients served.
- Ensure quality care is provided efficiently and safely, aligned with unit standards.
- Demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of our organization.
- Treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.

Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Systematically reassess patients to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement measurable individualized plans of care within established timeframes.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on facts and evaluations of patient outcomes, modifying care plans as needed.
- Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning.
- Document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and evaluate care plans.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
- Sensitivity to patients' rights in the delivery of care.
- Clear and concise communication appropriate to the developmental age of patients.
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- BLS and ACLS Certification required.
