Program Opportunity FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program that leads to becoming one of our full-time Diesel & Trailer Technicians . It helps people enter the Diesel & Trailer Maintenance field who might not be able to afford a lengthy formal technical school with tuition debt, by providing education and tools and paying you during the program. The program includes classroom training and hands-on experience, with a pathway to a full-time Mobile Diesel Technician role with CAMFS. Responsibilities Attend four weeks of full-time classroom training (travel and lodging expenses are provided) and complete hands-on training with supervision from a Lead Technician. After classroom training, be paired with a Lead Technician for hands-on training and transition to a full-time role in the field. Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art service vehicle and required tools. Carry out tasks in support of keeping customer fleets running efficiently and minimizing downtime. Remain engaged in ongoing education to advance skills and career progression within CAMFS. Qualifications & Requirements Desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic. Willingness and ability to study hard and commit to four weeks away for training. Maturity and focus; this is the start of a career path, not a summer program. Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles. Ability to operate an iPad. A High-School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Background checks, driving record checks, pre-employment drug testing, and a physical are conducted. DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance: candidate must complete and pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. A valid DOT medical card may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical if more than four months remain; otherwise a DOT physical is required. Minimum age 21 due to interstate commerce regulations; valid state driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File are required. Safe driving record required (3-year MVR review). Applicants who have recently separated from active military service are encouraged to apply. Compensation & Pay Details $12.99/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed) $19/hour after the first six weeks Second class for four weeks at Indy at $19/hour + $250/week (taxed) Incremental pay increase of $1/hour upon graduation Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance starts day one of employment. 401(k) matching starts after 90 days; 100% match up to 6% contribution and 2% discretionary company contribution.
