Title: Senior Data Engineer Airflow, dbt Core, Kubernetes/OpenShift Location: Jersey City, NJ Onsite 3 days/week Address: 185 Hudson St #1150, Jersey City, NJ 07311 Start Date: ASAP Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Apache Airflow, dbt Core, Python, Kubernetes, and OpenShift . This role is critical to building, operating, and optimizing scalable data pipelines that support financial and accounting platforms, including enterprise system migrations and high-volume data processing workloads. Client is implementing a new accounting system and merging data warehouses. They need a strong data engineer who can design and optimize data pipelines, streamline process automation, and support platform operations. The ideal candidate should be able to build the platform, run and support it, and work closely with infrastructure teams in an on‑prem OpenShift environment. Required Qualifications 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform engineering Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise‑scale data platforms in production Expert-level experience with Apache Airflow, including DAG design, scheduling, and performance tuning Expert-level experience with dbt Core, including modeling, testing, macros, and implementation Strong Python programming experience for data engineering and automation Strong Kubernetes/OpenShift experience in production or enterprise environments Experience with distributed workload management and performance optimization Strong SQL experience with complex transformations and large datasets Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git‑based workflows Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services or accounting platforms Experience supporting enterprise system migrations Experience with data warehouses such as Oracle Experience running data platforms in cloud or hybrid environments Prior experience working with on-prem OpenShift environments #J-18808-Ljbffr Interon IT Solutions
