Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner | Golden, CO

Location: Golden, Colorado Status: Full-Time Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, seven days a week Compensation: $60-80 per hour, based on experience, plus bonus opportunities Benefits: Full benefits package available Position Summary NextCare is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Golden, Colorado. This role is a great fit for a clinician who values variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while working in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment. Full-time clinicians typically work three 12-hour shifts per week, allowing them to be off more days than they work. Monthly schedules are released in advance, and there are no after-hours charting or follow-up responsibilities. You will be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep your skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR Code and bill services appropriately Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarksPractice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Colorado license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioners must hold ANCC or AANP certification as an FNP Physician Assistants must hold active NCCPA certification Active DEA license or ability to obtain Ability to treat patients of all ages Active BLS certification EHR proficiency Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays DOT certification or willingness to obtain; fees are covered Preferred Qualifications Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care Experience with initial X-ray interpretation before radiology over-read About NextCare NextCare is one of the nation’s largest urgent care providers, serving communities with accessible, affordable, high-quality care across more than 160 locations in 11 states.
