Under the direction of the Cattery Lead, the Feline Care Technician provides daily care to cats housed at the SPCA of Brazoria County's offsite cattery and adoption location. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and humane environment while supporting animal health, enrichment, behavior, and adoption efforts.

The Feline Care Technician also assists with medication administration as directed, monitors animal health and behavior, supports adoption interactions, and helps ensure a positive experience for both cats and members of the public.

What You'll Do

• Provide daily care for all cats, including feeding, fresh water, cleaning, and enrichment.

• Clean and sanitize cages, litter boxes, kennels, and common areas according to established protocols.

• Monitor cat health, behavior, appetite, and overall condition and promptly communicate concerns to the Cattery Lead or medical team.

• Assist with administering medications as directed by the Cattery Lead or medical team.

• Ensure cats are properly housed, comfortable, and receiving appropriate enrichment and socialization.

• Support stress reduction and the overall physical and emotional well-being of cats in care.

• Assist with adoptions by interacting with the public, answering questions, and facilitating positive cat-adopter interactions.

• Provide basic education to adopters regarding feline care, behavior, and responsible pet ownership.

• Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming adoption environment.

• Monitor and maintain adequate supplies, including food, litter, cleaning products, and animal care supplies.

• Assist with intake, transfers, and movement of cats between the shelter and offsite cattery as needed.

• Assist with adoption events, promotional activities, and community outreach efforts.

• Work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, leadership, and members of the public.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
