Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team. As a PTA, you will provide high-quality physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, helping patients improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and independence. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day physical therapy treatments, including bed mobility, transfers, gait and stair training, ambulation on various surfaces, therapeutic exercises, stretching, strengthening, balance, coordination, and other appropriate modalities. Provide treatment according to the established plan of care. Communicate and collaborate with other disciplines and staff to promote coordinated care and strong interdisciplinary teamwork. Participate in home visits, family conferences, community awareness, and marketing activities when appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in residents' medical records. Document treatment changes and patient progress according to facility policies and procedures. Supervise rehabilitation and restorative aides regarding patient treatments, range of motion, ambulation, and positioning. Record and submit required documentation and treatment charges accurately and within established time frames. Complete discharge documentation, including GG documentation, home treatment programs, and equipment recommendations. Promote patient safety, independence, and quality of life throughout the rehabilitation process. Qualifications Current Massachusetts State License as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Graduate of an APTA-approved Physical Therapy Assistant program. Must comply with applicable state, federal, and APTA standards of practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic and cooperative interdisciplinary team. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
