Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0630–1830) | Nights Available (1830–0630) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU setting with an average daily census of 16, managing adult patients with diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, respiratory distress, and overdose/substance abuse
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult ICU patients
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment, with tele tech oversight
• Manage patients on respiratory support ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation, troubleshooting RT equipment as needed
• Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5); fulfill a minimum of 2 holidays falling within the contract period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of placement
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience with complex adult patient populations including cardiac, trauma, and neurological cases
• Experience titrating vasoactive and sedation drips in a critical care environment
• Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems and strip interpretation
• Experience working with mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support equipment
