Histotechnologist - Histology Lab - FLA

Performs STAT and routine histological procedures (preparation, processing, and/or staining of patient tissues) prior to the microscopic study and diagnosis by the Pathologist and/or Dermatopathologist. Interacts with physicians, nurses, and other allied health individuals in a manner which is helpful in understanding test availability for the department. Performs immunohistochemical, immunofluorescence, special stain, electron microscopy and frozen section studies. Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) and Digital Imaging experience as the position requires. Routine histology and MOHs experience preferred.Additional Skills and Qualifications:Working knowledge of the methods, instrumentation, and principles of all routine immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, special stain, electron microscopy and frozen section procedures is required. Must be able to work irregular hours (rotating shifts) and evenings upon occasion. License or Certification:Clinical Laboratory Technologist (specialty Histology) Florida licensure.
