Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 5+ years of Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab of a teaching hospital
• 13-week assignment with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Epic charting system used
• Must be willing to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Performs procedures including PCI, TAVR, left and right heart catheterizations, Impella insertion, Watchman procedure, and IABP placement/removal
• Administers procedural sedation and monitors patients receiving antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiology, or EP required
• Experience with Structural Heart and TAVR procedures preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in sheath removal/monitoring, vascular closure systems, and topical hemostasis techniques
• Experience with central line insertion assistance, IV therapy, and blood product administration
• 2 references from most recent employer required

Additional Information

• Circulates procedures and monitors patients under procedural sedation
• Obtains 12-lead EKG/ECG and manages hypothermia protocols as needed
• Follows infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Candidates with any prior employment history at University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must disclose this at time of consideration for a rehire eligibility check
• RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit
