International Banking Portfolio Manager (Commercial Underwriter) - Amegy Tower / Houston TX

Zions is seeking an experienced International Banking Portfolio Manager(Spanish fluency required) to join our International Banking team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on managing and underwriting commercial credit relationships for companies engaged in international trade, while ensuring sound risk management, credit quality, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.International Banking is a full-service lending group specializing in financing solutions for exporters, importers, U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies, and international corporates.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of an assigned commercial loan portfolio.Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums analyzing financial performance, industry and market risks, collateral support, guarantor strength, and loan structure to assess creditworthiness and support credit decisions.Monitor and administer the assigned loan portfolio, including loan maturities, delinquencies, collateral, financial reporting requirements, borrowing base compliance, covenant compliance, risk ratings, and portfolio reporting.Identify emerging risks and proactively manage deteriorating credit relationships, recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies when necessary.Stay informed of economic, industry, and market trends that could impact portfolio performance and credit quality.Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Compliance Officers, and management to support portfolio growth while maintaining strong credit quality and regulatory compliance.Communicate directly with clients regarding financial reporting, covenant compliance, loan servicing needs, and other portfolio-related matters.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial banking, credit underwriting, credit analysis, portfolio management, or a related financial services role.Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of commercial lending, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, credit underwriting, risk assessment, loan documentation, and portfolio management.Completion of a formal credit training program preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other business productivity applications.Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, and senior leadership.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail.LanguageFluency in Spanish required.BenefitsMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance – START DAY ONE!Life and Disability Insurance, Paid Paternal Leave, and Adoption AssistanceHealth Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA), and dependent care accountsPaid Training, Paid Time Off (PTO), and 11 Paid Federal Holidays401(k) plan with company match, Profit Sharing, competitive compensation in line with work experienceMental health benefits, including coaching and therapy sessionsTuition Reimbursement for qualifying employeesEmployee Ambassador preferred banking product
