Senior Technical Business Analyst - Wealth & Trust Modernization

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Technical Business Analyst – Wealth & Trust Modernization for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Cincinnati, OH, Farmington Hills, MI, Frisco, TX or Charlotte, NC .
Responsibilities :
Seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to support a strategic initiative focused on modernizing a legacy Wealth and Trust Accounting platform and associated technology architecture. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, enterprise architecture teams, technology delivery organizations, and executive leadership.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of business analysis, technical acumen, and executive communication skills. This individual must be comfortable understanding current-state and future-state architectures, documenting high-level business and technical requirements, facilitating workshops, and developing executive-ready presentations that help guide strategic decision-making.
Experience within Wealth Management and Trust Accounting environments is essential. Familiarity with Trust Accounting platforms such as: Global Plus, Unity, AM Trust, or similar solutions is highly desirable.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and technology teams to define modernization objectives and business outcomes.
Gather, document, and validate business, functional, and high-level technical requirements.
Analyze current-state processes, systems, integrations, and data flows supporting Wealth and Trust operations.
Create business capability maps, process flows, use cases, user stories, and requirement documentation.
Identify dependencies, gaps, risks, and opportunities within the existing architecture.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions across business and technology organizations.
Technology & Architecture Support
Work closely with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to understand legacy and target-state architecture.
Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly documentation and presentations.
Support application rationalization, platform transformation, system integration, and modernization initiatives.
Assist in evaluating current applications, interfaces, data models, and technology platforms.
Document architecture decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and modernization roadmaps.
Collaborate with development and engineering teams to ensure requirements align with solution design.
Executive Communication & Strategic Planning
Develop executive-level presentations, strategy decks, architecture summaries, and modernization updates.
Create materials for leadership reviews, steering committees, architecture governance boards, and project sponsors.
Present findings, recommendations, and analyses to senior management and technology leadership.
Provide clear communication regarding project status, risks, recommendations, and future-state planning.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as a trusted advisor between business, operations, architecture, and technology teams.
Build consensus among stakeholders with competing priorities.
Facilitate discussions across multiple business units and technical teams.
Drive alignment on requirements, scope, priorities, and business outcomes.

Required Skills :
8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst.
Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale modernization, transformation, migration, or architecture initiatives.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements and vice versa.
Ability to understand APIs, integrations, databases, data flows, and enterprise system architectures.

Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)

Process Flows
Gap Analyses
User Stories
Architecture Documentation
Advanced PowerPoint and presentation development skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Experience presenting to executive leadership and technical architecture teams.
Industry Experience

Investment Operations
Strong understanding of:
Trust and fiduciary accounting
Investment accounting
Portfolio accounting
Wealth servicing operations
Client reporting and statement processing
Asset custody and trust administration
The successful candidate is someone who can:
Quickly understand complex Wealth and Trust business processes and platforms.
Speak comfortably with architects, engineers, business leaders, and executives.
Navigate both business strategy and technical discussions.
Produce high-quality executive presentations and recommendation decks.
Drive requirements gathering and stakeholder alignment for modernization initiatives.
Effectively bridge the gap between business users and technology teams while helping shape the future-state architecture vision.
